Hello everyone!

Over time, the building of Little Angels School has deteriorated. Monsoon rains, the cyclone of 2012 and the years caused some damages. Water infiltrations caused deteriorations on a school wall. Noting this damages, InMaLanka decided to undertake some work. So we repaired the damaged wall and we completely repainted the school.

We thank our donors who helped to make this work: the school Notre-Dame des Forges with the Rice Bowl operation, the sponsors of the Little Angels School, the donors of InMaLanka and the students of the Institute of Technology of Périgueux.

This summer being the season of changes for the school, the new desks and benches were bought for the LKG classroom! Before they were studying seated on chairs or on the floor, which is, as we know, very bad for the back. We are grateful to the staff and the children from the school Notre Dame des Forges who allowed us to provide this furnitures to the school.

As for me, my internship is over and I am back in France. I want to thank all InMaLanka's team for giving me the opportunity to make a very interesting internship at a professional level as well as at a personal one.

See you soon!

Hello everyone!

As promised, some news of my internship!

Here it's getting very hot: 37 °C, 40 °C ... That's why it is the school holidays.

The academic year will begin on June 5th for the Little Angels School.
I am currently studying quotations to make the school beautiful when the children will come back. Indeed we will redo the painting at Little Angels School.
About the green garden, it is in good condition. It has been almost a year since it gives vegetables! After the monsoon we expected to plant new seeds to diversify the vegetables used for cooking at school.

On 26th and 27th April 2013, we went to Andhra Pradesh for monitoring programs implemented by InMaLanka's partner, Desire India. The purpose of this visit was to update information about power cuts and education of children in some villages. Indeed, the study of two projects, a solar program and the reopening of evening schools, required a field visit. Thus, Ramayana, coordinator of Desire India, Baskar and Anand, technical assistants of Desire India and I visited five villages where both NGOs are working.

In each village, our visit has been welcomed with great warmth. Some villages have welcomed us with music and dancing or flowers!

InMaLanka is doing its best to respect the environment. At the Little Angels School, India, children have to separate their wastes and we set up a green garden.

But, we have a blog. And this blog has a carbon footprint. For now, the number of pages read since its creation bring its footprint to 56.5g.

But, how a blog can generate CO2? The carbon emissions are due to electrical consumption related to servers and hardware use.

InMaLanka decided to participate to the "Carbon Neutral Blog" operation. It allows to compensate the carbon emissions of the blog by planting a tree in France.

Petits gestes écolos (for Bonial) and Pépinières Naudet plant a tree in Britain for each blog that are participating to the operation. This tree will compensate the carbon emissions due to the blog. According to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCC) calculate that the average of carbon absorbed by a tree each year is 10kg.
InMaLanka's tree will compensate the carbon footprint of his blog from the first year!

This year, InMaLanka goes again to the Heroes Race.

Since three years this race takes place in several parts of Europe at different times of the year. It brings together associations from diverse backgrounds and heroes, a lot of heroes.
In France, it is organized by KCO and Alvarum.

But, who are these heroes?

They are women and men who are over-motivated and like to take up challenges. Each one is animated by her/his own motivations and they decide to support an association by running for it.
But.... before crossing the starting line, they must collect a minimum of 200 euros that will be donated to the association.

This year, Magali is our heroine! She decided to run for InMaLanka and has already collected 385 euros!
The support of Magali is not new. Indeed, the young women is supporting InMaLanka since few months: she is the sponsor of Kegalle orphanage, Sri Lanka, where InMaLanka is working on a food program.

Today, Magali is telling us her story. Do not hesitate to support her by spreading the information around you and by..... making a donation! Even the smallest donation is really welcome! And for french citizen, your donation is 66% tax-deductible!

You have till the date of the race that will be held on June 16th at Saint Cloud Park, Paris.

To access to the fundraising page (in french), it is here: Magali is a heroine!

Here is the story of Magali! Thank you for your commitment!

"I am raising my five and a half years daughter alone.
I often ask myself the question of the values that I am passing down in our superfast life where the work is taking very important place.

Through travels, I am trying to make her discover other lifestyles, other cultures.
For a long time I had the idea to support a humanitarian action: so I thought that it might be a beautiful common project on the long term.

So I started looking on the web for sponsorships and NGOs.
Attracted by India, I focused my researches on this country and aimlessly of this research I discovered InMaLanka.

Blanche, the president, took time to answer my questions about her NGO.
Regarding my doubts about the individual sponsorship, she steered me to the sponsorship of project by talking to me about the actions at Kegalle orphanage. Indeed, the association was facing some difficulties to sustain it: so I became the sponsor of this orphanage.

In good physical condition but not really into sports, I started running last year to be able to accompany my daughter in her sports activities when she will be growing.
I also wanted to show her the importance of practicing a physical activity.

When I heard about the Heroes Race, I thought that it will be the perfect opportunity to give an additional support while giving myself over to my new "passion".

And my love for costumes did the rest !*"

*each year heroes are invited to dress up!

March 26th, 2013, the children from the primary school Ecole Notre Dame des Forges (Tarnos, France) helped by the teaching staff have made a bowl of rice operation.

Each children from the Pre-KG to the Vstd brought his/her lunch to school, the money for the canteen being donated this day to the NGO InMaLanka.

Following this action, the President of the NGO, Blanche Mattern, StéphaneMartinez, comics drawer who lived in Inda, shared with each class a time of discussion and awareness about the situation of children in India.

The children, already well sensitized by their teacher, were able to ask any question and be aware of the extent of their action.

We would like to thank the children, the pedagogic team, especially Madam Brigitte Ollivier-Duvigneau who suggest us as beneficiary for this action that raised 266 euros.

The amount raised will benefit to the Little Angels School, India.
