Children and teaching staff of Little Angels School presented a dance and sketches program on August 15th to mark the 65th anniversary of Indian independence.
The indian flag raising ceremony was held at 9am.
India gained independence on 15 August 1947 after long years of struggle. It is worth remembering that today, even if India is a free country, many citizens are still fighting for their rights. Even today, 65 years after the independence of their country, many are scorned by the society because they belong to a particular caste, religion or minority. Numbers are those who are prisoners of their condition and have no access to basic rights: health, quality education, adequate nutrition or normal sanitary conditions.
Today it belongs to all to change the rules of the game and continue to fight for underprivileged populations. It is up to today's children to be responsible for what will be India tomorrow.
