Little Angels School: some news

The annual day of the school was celebrated at the end of march. It was the occasion for the children to show us their talents! 

In April, edutainment notebooks were distributed to children thanks to the donation of Cécilia and Gilberte. The kids spent the afternoon learning English by coloring!

The academic year ended in April and children get back to school in June 4th. A big thank New students who have just joined the class of Pre-KG slowly adapt themselves to school life. And it is with pleasure that I can see the oldest follow evening classes at school. They continue to attend classes diligently and with great results.

A very encouraging result and that made me heartwarming is Jagdhish, a child like no other. When he came to the Little Angels School for the first time, he hardly knows how to walk and talk, it is now able to cope alone and write a few words, he gets along well with other children and his teachers!

In June, I met all the sponsored children during a meeting with their parents. These meetings are held regularly to monitor their progress, to spend time together and also to make annual reports, drawings for sponsors and meet the parents.

Two volunteers - Amandine and Vincent - visited the school in June and currently two French teachers are helping their. Those volunteers were sent by the structure of Marion (a partner of Desire India). Two students of the IUT of Perigueux are currently training at InMaLanka, they participate in school life three days a week and launch a new chapter for the Little Angels School through their program on household-waste sorting (they will talk to you soon on the blog).

UKG will benefit soon of new equipment. The carpenter of the village is currently making benches and desks. We preferred to entrust this task to run the local economy rather than buying ready-made factory equipment.

Mr. Mattern, who also went to meet the villagers in Andhra Pradesh, has visited the school and meet some children during the holidays. We thank him for his generous donation which will pay 30% of costs of production of the new benches and desks. We also thank Amanda and Vincent for their participation in this project, and the structure of Marion for the fundraising action they made in France.
